The Challenge

Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) required a contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and quality control necessary to perform Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs) in preparation for their Cyber Command Readiness Inspection (CCRI) slated for months coming up. A Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) was required because of the environment that FLARNG was running on.

Our Solution

Accend provided an experienced CCIE to assist with the STIGs audit and also someone with a background with Cisco routers, switches for both voice and data, Router Perimeter, Firewall, Orion SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Prime.

The Results

Accend’s CCIE consultant assisted FLARNG with STIGing their network devices running SolarWinds Orion, Cisco ISE, Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices, firewall, Cisco Prime, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). The CCIE had a background in Network/Wireless/Telecom to perform the STIGs on all of FLARNG network devices/appliances to include unified communication equipment. The project also consisted of the different applications and software, remediating, and testing of changes made.

The Challenge

NPS at Catoctin Mountain Park (CATO) required assistance with upgrading their Cisco VoIP Telephone System located at its headquarter and two other remote locations. They required assistance with configuring and procuring all hardware and software to provide a turn-key solution. They also required training to CATO IT staff on how to administer the phone system and CATO employees on the use of the phones. They required the vendor to integrate various systems and ensure their functionality

Our Solution

Accend provided a Technical Project Manager and a CCIE Voice engineer to assist the designing, implementation and post-installation support of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) VoIP environment. Accend provided NPS CATO with a list of hardware and software NPS needed to procure for the project, including all licenses. The equipment were three (3) Cisco 4331 ISRs Voice gateways, forty (40) Cisco 8441 deskphones, two (2) Cisco 8831 Conference phones, two (2) Cisco 8851 desk phones, and over 50 CUCM and CUC licenses.

All installation and configuration were done remotely via Webex.

The Results

NPS CATO was able to get their Cisco VoIP HQ and two remote locations upgraded with the new Cisco VoIP system. Accend’s Voice CCIE was able to configure all CUCM configuration (i.e., Device Pools, Dial Plans, Call Routing, Call ID and other features..etc.), provided administration guidance and training to CATO IT staff members, and also end user documentation was provided on how to use the new VoIP phones.

Chesapeake Health Care provides health care services to residents of the three lower counties of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It has two locations in Maryland. It provides Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Dental for children and moms-to-be and OB/GYN at the Salisbury location. The Challenge

Chesapeake Health Care’s IT staff reached out to us because they had a ransomware attack that crippled some of their Windows infrastructure, including the server handling their backups. While they were able to recover and disinfected some of their systems, they had a difficult time with their Exchange 2007 server. Users were able to access their email via Outlook as a workaround. OWA was how most of their users were accessing emails, and unfortunately, it was useless to them. They had issues migrating to Office 365 and were getting a lot of errors.

Our Solution

Accend provided a Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect (CISA) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (CPIT) in Office 365, and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Office 365 Administration, to assist with migrating their Exchange 2007 to Office 365 for approximately 400 users. All work was done remotely via Team Viewer access.

The Results

Our Microsoft Certified Subject Matter Expert (SME) did the migration in the background while users were still able to access their mailboxes until the full migration was completed. A cut over maintenance window was done to the new environment.

The Challenge

Cisco Systems required a Senior Network Infrastructure engineer who also had experience supporting the systems team in large scale 24x7 multi-million dollar Data Centers across globe using VMware Virtualization architecture and supporting Cloud-base OpenStack environments, FlexPod, UCS, Cisco CSS/ACE Module, Nexus up to 9K, Cisco One and ACI, IAAS, UCCE, and other voice projects. Other technologies used across the different Cisco Business Units were vSphere, vCenter Server, and vSAN.

Our Solution

Accend provided a Senior Network Infrastructure engineer to support Cisco IT team with their Network Infrastructure, Systems, and Collaboration/Telepresence Team. The team was part of the Cisco Alpha Solutions and Data Center platform focusing on technology innovation within Network and Data Center services and supported Cisco’s Early Technology Exploration initiative.

The Results

Cisco had a dedicated Network Infrastructure team to support both their 24x7 Network and Data Center environment, who was both reliable and knowledgeable in supporting a challenging and hectic work environment.

The Challenge

Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) required a VMware Professional Services Consultant to assist with their VMware environment. They adopted VMware technology for Server and Desktop virtualization environments, and required a technical review, overall assessment, and improvement recommendations of their current virtual environment, which included assessing, providing recommendations to improve performance, and align best practices for virtual environments. This project also required a Subject Matter Expert for their SolarWinds and Cisco VoIP environments. Tasks included assessing and reviewing the current environment for best recommendations.

Our Solution

Accend provided a VMware Subject Matter Expert and consultant to advise, assist, implement, configure, and deploy VMware applications such as App Volumes and WorkSpace One capabilities for FLARNG’s View environment. The consultant also assisted with reviewing and assessing FLARNG’s Horizon environment for best practices deployment, and implementation and provided any knowledge transfer and training as required. Accend’s VMware Professional Services consultant assisted with analyzing the configuration and optimization of FLARNG’s VMware infrastructure, implementation of View Horizon App Volumes, and WorkSpace One applications, validated appropropriate shared storage resources ensuring that shared storage was configured appropriately for the virtual environment, and reviewed and made sure the physical backup server and license server were configured correctly. FLARNG’s VMware included a Primary, Secondary, and Alternate VMWare Sites.
